Equipment we install & stand behind
We don't fit whatever a supplier pushes this month. Every brand on this page was selected because we've tested it, know it performs, and can support it long after the installation is done. If we wouldn't put it in our own home, we won't put it in yours.
Every brand here has been tested across hundreds of real installations — not just reviewed on paper.
We work directly with manufacturers to register warranties and resolve issues quickly if they arise.
We only specify brands where UK parts and technical support are readily available — not brands that disappear.
We're not pushed toward any brand by supplier incentives. We recommend what's right for each job.
Solar PV & Battery Storage
Four manufacturers that consistently deliver on performance, warranty, and long-term reliability. We specify these brands across domestic and commercial solar and battery installations.
Fox ESS is our most-specified system across domestic and light commercial installs. Their hybrid inverters integrate solar, battery, and grid in a single unit with excellent monitoring software. Strong UK distribution and a highly responsive technical team mean issues are resolved fast — which is exactly what you need when you're managing a customer's home energy system. The H1 is our go-to for single phase domestic installs, and it performs day in, day out.
The Tesla Powerwall 3 is the only battery system we install that offers true whole-home backup as standard — when the grid goes down, your home keeps running. It seamlessly transitions to backup power within milliseconds, maintaining supply to your entire property including high-draw appliances like electric cookers, heat pumps, and EV chargers.
Unlike systems that protect only a few dedicated circuits, Powerwall 3 connects at the main distribution point and backs up the full home load. Combined with solar, it can keep your home running for days during an extended outage. The integrated inverter and battery design means fewer components, simpler installation, and a single warranty covering the entire system.
SolaX hybrid inverters offer excellent value without compromising on core performance. The X3 hybrid range covers 5–15kW output, making it suitable for larger homes and small commercial installations. SolaX's monitoring platform and app are well-regarded, and UK support has strengthened considerably in recent years.
SolarEdge is our preferred choice when roof shading, multiple orientations, or complex layouts would reduce the performance of a standard string system. Individual DC optimisers on each panel mean one shaded panel doesn't drag down the whole array. The SolarEdge Home Battery integrates directly with the inverter for a clean, monitored system.
Electrical
We install RCBO consumer units from three manufacturers that have proven themselves on quality, availability of parts, and technical documentation. The choice between them depends on the specific requirements of each installation.
FuseBox RCBO consumer units are our most commonly specified board for domestic replacements. The F100 range is clean, well-built, and available in configurations from 6-way to 20-way. Individual RCBOs on every circuit mean a fault on one circuit trips only that circuit — not half the house. The metal-clad enclosure meets current fire safety regulations.
Hager consumer units are specified where a premium installation is required — larger homes, properties with higher circuit counts, or where the customer wants the best. The VML range has an excellent reputation for build quality and longevity. Hager's technical documentation is among the most thorough in the industry, which matters when servicing the board in 10 years' time.
British General Fortress consumer units offer solid performance at an accessible price point. For straightforward domestic replacements where the existing installation is in good condition and the circuit count is standard, a BG RCBO board delivers everything required at a cost that keeps the overall project budget reasonable. Not every installation needs a premium board — the BG delivers where it counts.
EV Charging
Three chargers covering every use case — from budget-smart to premium design to solar-first. All 7.4kW, all smart, all fully Part P certified.
The Fox ESS EV charger is the natural choice if you're installing (or already have) a Fox ESS solar or battery system. It integrates directly within the Fox app ecosystem, allowing solar generation, battery state, and EV charging to be managed from a single interface. Clean installation, solid build, and fully Part P compliant.
The Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 is our most requested EV charger. Sleek, minimal, and built to last — it works with every EV on the UK market via a standard Type 2 connector and integrates natively with Tesla vehicles. Fast charging, reliable smart controls, and a design that actually looks good on your wall.
Zappi is a solid charger and we install it, but it's no longer our default recommendation. Where it comes into its own is on retrofit installs where a customer wants to integrate EV charging, solar divert, and hot water diversion into one joined-up system. Paired with the myenergi Eddi (hot water) and Libbi (battery), it creates a complete energy management ecosystem that works independently of any solar brand.
For new Fox ESS solar installs, the Fox ESS charger integrates more cleanly. For Tesla owners, the Wall Connector is the obvious choice. But if you already have an existing solar system and want to tie in EV charging and hot water divert without changing your inverter, Zappi and the myenergi hub is a strong solution.
